About the Fold:
The flat, traditional Presidential Fold brings a small touch of quaint elegance to the jacket. Generally used in a conservative environment, it provides a neat little two centimetre tease of your fabric. This fold horizontally pops out just above the pocket to say a very humble ‘hello’ to all you encounter.
This fold is ideal for day-to-day wear, and a simple fold for the novice pocket square user. At the same time, it commands a certain amount of gentlemanly respect. You could say that the Presidential fold is a power fold, made to bring a touch of intimidation with you.
The Presidential Fold will work with almost any fabric, but won’t show off the edges of your pocket square. A characteristic of this fold is that it shows no edge. The principal difference between The Presidential Fold and The Classic Fold is whether or not you can see the edges of the square.
More often than not, the Presidential fold is used with a single-colour fabric, usually white. Then again, if you’re using the Presidential Fold it means that you make the rules, so you should use any fabric you please.
